FULL DIMENSIONAL

Hello Andrew -

Keith the MD from WMBR in Cambridge MA here. We've been hearing ourfriendly rival station WZBC play and play and play tracks from the Full Dimensional 7" and have built up a bit of jealousy along with some self-doubt about ourselves since we've never received it! We're starting to salivate in public and avoid crowded street corners. Please guide us back to the track of normalcy by servicing a copy to WMBR! I can add your e-mail address to our weekly tracking distribution list if that would help... not much of a bribe but it's all we got.

thanks,
keith

I expect a lot from Full D's Andrew Aldrich, and he's yet to disappoint. But even I wasn't ready for Ambiguous, hand's down his best album yet! Andrew put aside the ambitious experimentalism of his recent albums and instead lets loose the Rock n Roll animal that those of us who know him have long expected was lurking behind the scenes. Songs like The Protagonist Fails, Debunking Myths, On The Ceiling (subject of a surreal stop motion video!) and the hilarious Bummer Trip just prove why the labels have been showing interest in Full D - they're great, and surprisingly radio friendly, too! Add to this the breathtaking cover of Lou Reed's Perfect Day which closes Ambiguous, and you have a classic album!

Radiant Faze Records Press Release #5

how long has it been since you've picked up a 7" that you wanted
to listen to over and over?

We here at Radiant Faze records think that our newest release by garden city michigan's own Full Dimensional will be that record... or we wouldn't have sunk our hard earned bucks into it!!!

We also believe that there are many of you out there who are convinced that th' days of yore when literally everyone of th' first dozen releases by Sub Pop, Am Rep, and Teen Beat were th' last time you hit repeat on th' turntable... well we think this record will be one that will be played in such manner also...

Radiant Faze in conjunction with Space Oddity records are pleased to give you th' opportunity to hear th' exciting debut release by an artist that we are sure will be recognized as a new major talent in th' field of indie rock, Andrew Aldrich aka Full Dimensional...

We were first exposed to Andrew's considerable talent as a songwriter back in December of 1997 when he sent us a tape of his "re-entry" cassette in addition to ordering a flaming lips atavistic 12" that we had an extra of jest lyin around th' house... ever since i first popped that tape in my car deck, i've wanted to do a record by Full Dimensional... over th' last two years, every so often a new tape would come, unexpected, out of th' blue... always great tapes that would receive almost constant play in th' car deck... finally now, two years later, i've convinced th' wife and a friend that th' time is now... we've gotta jest do it, no ifs ands or buts...th' new millennium is upon us!

We've scraped together enough to press 850 copies of four tracks of prime Full Dimensional sound on a delicious candy apple red vynil seven inch thirty three and a third revolutions per minute record... ...as usual with record manufacturers, there was a slight overrun that gave us 867 copies total!

act fast as we're sure this will be a desirable record which will disappear soon!!!
Andrew records all his material at home and surprisingly comes up with a cleaner sound than most studio dreck that passes off as acceptable indie rock fare... you'll be asking how does he do it?

after you listen to this record jest once, we're sure that th' songs will stick in yer head!
Unfortunately Andrew can sometimes be a bit of a perfectionist and often displays a low self opinion of his recordings and has also become something of self imposed recluse from time to time since we've been in contact with him, so it took no slight amount of deception for us to literally sneak away in th' middle of th' night with th' tapes... we've since convinced him that it's really in his overall best interest to let more than a mere handful of people hear his music!!!

now that you've read this far..

we may also have some copies left of some previous items released on radiant faze as well...
radiant faze # 07 pumpernickel cd 10 songs of teenage angst in broken hearted lou sebadoh sound $10 this was released september 1995... we closed my schtore th' month before ( august 1995 ) and then i ran out of money so th' band ended up finishing up th' release and got most of th' pressing... >>> sorry guys... i hope you've since forgiven me!!! <<< ( if there is interest in wholesale quantities of ten or more, we'll see if we can still get 'em from th' band )

radiant faze # 05 four song various 7" given away at our wedding... 300 pressed... long vanished!!!
this was a pretty way kool thing t' do... we had some local bands that used to play at our record schtore do some songs fer us...then we gave 'em away at our wedding on april 29 1995... we're married four years already now!!!
yoke did th' santo and johnny guitar instrumental standard "sleepwalk", pumpernickel gave us their forlorn but strangely appropriate pop opus "anniversary" , while on th' second side... our lokel yokel caffeine and smokes punk band stressboy cranked up th' speed and adrenaline with an amphetamine fueled version of billy idol's "white wedding" and finally, that ol geezer punk ted franko wrote a really kool song fer us called "two people", ... some copies were sold at th' schtore but most were given out to people from our families that we knew would never play th' record... some copies ended up in th' philippines with members of kristin's family, some people that were given copies have also since died, and th' records were probably thrown away after death...

radiant faze #03 pumpernickel "normally pointless" b/w "th' difference" 7"... this was done in september of 1994 if memory serves me well... though it almost never does however... i'll check it out t' clarify... well i checked and there was no info we put on th' record! it was around mid 1994 anyway, we pressed up 500 and sold apprx 300 at th' schtore... they were that popular locally... probably only 100 or so made it out t' th' outside werld... mostly thru jaboni youth fanzine... i still have some ( very few! like maybe only 25 at most! ) on black vynil ( 350 pressed ) fer $8 each and a handful ( 5 ) of bee-ooo-ti-ful bloo with white swirl wax fer th' outrageous amount of $20 each!!!

We also had a more straight forward punk rawk oriented label that we intended to release records on... that label was t' be... gunk records!!! ...cuz as i'm sure you're all aware... gunk cleans out yer engine!!!
we only released one record on gunk... who knows... we'd certainly like to reactivate it if we find some $$$

Gunk 101 jake and th' stiffs "potbelly pete" b/w "tv and my baby" & "lonely boy"... 3 very kool toonz from this delware based foursome... very much in th' dolls / pistols 'vein' of junkie punk... as matter 'o' fact... "lonely boy" is a cover of th' latter days cook & jones pistols song from th' great rock & roll swindle era... we pressed 400 on black... maybe we can find a few fer th' princely sum of $7 each... cough it up now!!! ...and if ya want a red wax one that we did only 100 of, expect t' trade fer other recs worth $30 - $40...

Gunk 102 morning shakes "el camino" b/w "dope 'n' dogfood" & "hysterectomy" remains unreleased... this was gonna be from their june 1995 sessions... we still have th' tape and negotitations fer th' band t' buy it back broke down... we jest saw one 'o' th' guys at wfmu rec show... they have two bands now... he did say that he didn't want it released... perhaps if we find some $$$ we can do a rec by th'new band and finally get this one out as well... well... wishful thinking anyway... who knows, maybe?!
