Bianca X!

ooh ok, so a quick blog update turned out to be an hour of figuring out why I couldn’t log on to my wordpress account (if clearing cookies doesn’t work, it’s a problem with one of the plug-ins!) , so here I am at 1am…

today was Bianca’s last day at afternoon school :(  we will miss her classmates and teachers!  they gave her a really sweet poster with all her friends’ handprints and a card from her teachers. 

afterwards though, we celebrated kuya’s birthday a couple of days late with a few of his friends.  we went to the pool where kuya’s swim team was having a family fun night.  we swam, they played and then had burgers and hot dogs and cookies (healthy! ;p), and then we went bowling!  bianca partied all night with kuya and his friends! : )  Happy Birthday Kuya!  He’s 13!!!

Bianca’s really loving to walk these days. She’s now able to walk the whole living room and turn corners as long as someone’s following her. Maybe another month till she’s really walking? Everyone at the daycare is so proud of her!   She could barely sit on her own when she first started in November and now she’s able to walk short distances!  April will be her last full month at daycare though cos she’ll be going to center based therapy in May. We’re hoping she can still go to the daycare for a half day since her teachers and classmates are so much fun for her. We shall see. Hopefully she will be able to get much more speech therapy to help her communicate. Maybe more signs as well.

Milestone for Bianca today. She clapped her hands by herself! Two-handed functions are something that PT and OT have been working on for a while, and today she clapped. Hooray!

behind on uploading photos…what else is new?! but here’s a short update. Bianca is now able to sit in the regular chairs at school and the first time she did it, she sat for almost an hour and played! so cool. no more bebepod chair for her! she’s working on her 3rd tooth as well, all on the bottom. I’ll see if I can get a pic of them somehow. Her sleeping is getting better as well. No more binkies and bottles for a few weeks now. She’s not a baby anymore although she’s still smaller than most. OK, hopefully pics coming soon. Oh yeah, she’s also self-feeding now, although we need to slow her down as she loves food. Hee, her teachers duct tape her plate to the table so she doesn’t fling it about.  Duct tape rules!

so we’ve been home with pneumonia, but recovering now that we’re on the antibiotics… Santa brought Bianca her 1st tooth! a little tiny piece of tooth is now peeking at the bottom center front and looks like the one next to it is nearing. hooray for teeth!

so since we’ve been pretty much home all week, Bianca has really revved up on her youtube addiction. yes, she loves watching youtube, specifically hat and elmo videos. yes, hats! Bianca is obsessed with hats! That is one of the few signs she knows.  Every time she spots a hat, she pats her head.  She especially loves this video, we watch it about a dozen times a day… so at some point, we’ll have to get a hat manipulator to perform at a future birthday party…

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Joyful New Year!  Sorry for the lack of updates recently.  Bianca and mom have been battling the flu this week and just been running around doing this and that before then.

Bianca is having fun at her new school.  She is also making great progress and crawled a few feet the other day on her hands and knees!  Hooray!  We are also working on her sleep schedule thanks to tita joycie’s book recommendation : )

Nico is also doing well.  He is attending chess tournaments and won a trophy at one of the meets.  Swim meets have also started and his butterfly is much much better!

OK, time to wrap some presents while Bianca is napping!!!
